Got my new ram today.

Can someone check the following screen shot and tell me if this means the ram is definately stable at this clock setting and timings for 24/7 use?

If not can anyone tell me how to test the ram for 24/7 stability?

Its currently passed 20 minutes, it takes over 5 mins just to paste the screenshot, upload, and get onto the forums while everything is being stress.

I would like to use 1600 Mhz at 7-7-7 timings 24/7.

25 minutes passed, wow, 5 minutes to make a thread ^^

I appears your ram is only running at 1600Mhz not 2133Mhz.
you'll probably need to manually set the memory multiplier, voltage and timings in the bios.

As for testing Memtest86 is generally recommended. Burn it to a cd, boot from the cd-drive then leave it running. (i imagine this will take well over an hour with 12GB, for a single pass!)

I doubt that 2133 Mhz would be possible with 6 modules.

Realistically, Im trying for 1600 cas 7, and 2000 cas 9.

Currently I am raising the BCLK, setting manual ram timings causes boot failure, but leaving them on auto and just selecting the memory multiplier works.

My previous ram wouldnt even last 5 minutes at 1600 mhz and 9-9-9 timings, wheras this stuff was fine for 45 minutes under stress :).

I put up a short review and pictures here:

Ok, so after much testing, 180 BCLK with 3780 Mhz on the CPU and 1800 Mhz on the ram with 8-8-8-24 2t timings is working with no problems.

Raising the ram to 1900 Mhz and over even at looser timings fails to boot, and 1880 Mhz boots, but quickly shuts down.

Im happy with 1800 Mhz though, it would just seem that my CPUs memory controller cant handle 6 modules at their rated speeds, but I managed to get a good ram clock with 3.8 Ghz :).

Yea, I cant be bothered making a disk for memtest though, so I just run super pi and quad opthos to load everything up like crazy.

So far everything is rock stable with no problems with my sig settings :).

I've had some strange experiences with this RAM.

i have my i5 @ 3.7GHz 185 bclk so i was hoping for 1850MHz CAS 8 from 4GB. I was running blend tests using prime95, after each successful 10hr+ session id call it a success and tighten the timings.

It passed 15hrs @ 1850 8-8-8-25 1.65v so i figured i was onto a winner. However, when the machine was powered down for a while the first boot always hung on windows boot. After a restart it would be solid.

Had to back it off to 1480 8-8-8-25 to get rid of this problem. Cas 7 isnt stable. Not particularly impressed although ram timings dont mean a lot in most apps.

From your pictures, looks like one of the memory slot 'tabs' isn't quite pushed in.

Yea, I believe they are pushed in now, those pictures were taken as soon as I got the modules and installed them.

So maybe thats why the motherboard kept on beeping and refusing to boot when I first bunged all 6 modules in :).

I then installed them one pair at a time in accordance to the motherboard manual and then it booted up fine.

I wonder how long it will be before I can get better memory for the same cost or less than these, I predict never ^^.
