Hi,

You have a "G0" revision which if I remember correctly is the latter revision with generally better overclock-ability and uses slightly less power than the B3 version.

i think go is the one i have but the stepping says B and revision says GO so i take it i have the better revision then?

Yes indeed you do. Some of those can be clocked up to 4GHz :) But not all of them.

You should be able to get at least 3.2 - 3.4GHz out of it though.

My one would do 3.6.

G0 is the one to go for.

nice lol i look forward to it as im going to start getting into bit of gaming :) ! i am quite pleased with the performance especially coming from an e5200

B3s can still be good. Pretty sure I used to run 3.4 24/7 on mine. That was a great CPU, no reason to upgrade it for a long time and had fun messing around with it and doing my first lapping to help with heat :D

G0 better though ;-)

Great cpu! Ive got the GO revision and its still going strong. Ive been running it at 3.4 to 3.5 ghz 24/7 with an arctic freezer 7 pro cooler since i got it new. Get it overclocked as high as you can. :)

i intend to overclock it when i get new motherboard and cooler :) really looking forward to it wanted quad core for a while

Great chip, still rocking mine, been running it at 3.6ghz for a few years now. Won't be replacing until probably Haswell-e, fancy a six core upgrade!

im selling my computer now as i got a new motherboard coming asus h81m-e 1150 and hopefully be going i3 till i can afford at least i5

Don't think of i3 as a bad thing. If you get an i3 with hyper threading (2 cores 4 threads), they can perform only marginally less than the equivalently clocked i5 in some things (gaming being the big one).

my mum has a q6600 go in her shuttle with a 60gb ssd she thinks shes on speed when on the pc lol she not the best on pcs but loves how she can just go on net etc

edit

i couldnt get it to clock though but thats probably down to it being a shuttle but for what she wants it dont need to be clocked she wants to upgrade soon so i suggested more ram, a ssd and maybe ill do the 771 mod and put a e5450 in that way ill have a q6600 go revision to put in my goodie box
