So i have a psp with 1 gb mem. stick on a "special" firmware and my friend said today would you swap it for his ds lite with r4 cartriage.

So is it worth swapping it is the original psp for a ds lite.

I like the ds but don't want to have both.
And like the idea that i can play my bro

thanks pat

Entirely up to you I would imagine (based on usage etc). I don;t know what "special" firmware you have but tbh I prefer my PSP to the DS for commuting etc and also for the ps3 features you get.

Obviously you may not have used these features as your firmware is different, but to me this is a big bonus.

I would base it on your games tbh. Although obviously R4 on DS or Special psp firmware negates that as well :)

If it's your mate then why not do a swap for a week to see how you both get on. Then make your mind up once you have had a good play with it.

Thanks yh.

well i know its about games etc. butno games intrest me on psp anymore i hav finished all gta out and warriors but im still a kid inside with mario etc.

I would never use it with my ps3 and play tv personally i think it is pointless syncing it up.

Thanks pat

i have both. tricky lol. there's load more games on the ds that are just...great fun. the psp though, thats a trick bit of kit even by todays standards and it keeps getting better. there are some great games on it (the gta series, metal gear solid portable ops, erm...im sure theres others) but really, it doesnt compare games wise.

I have both...

PSP all day long, Just save up and buy a DS & R4 there really not that much, you will regret it if you get rid of your PSP

I would keep the PSP, i've got a DS and really want to get rid of it in favor of the poosp. Don't get me wrong, the DS is a fantastic handheld console, however, i rare play games on the move anymore and when i'm at home i would rather fire up the PC/PS3 and play.

What does interest me is the brilliant features the PSP boasts when used with a PS3 and those features seem to grow with every firmware update. PlayTV should be awesome.

Another thing you can do with a PSP is just lay in bed surfing the web which is not bad at all on the PSP screen but don't even consider the DS for this!

I'd stick with the PSP and just crack on with the PS1 games you can use with the emulator.

+1

try playing soem old PS1 games on it.

i sold my DS and bought a PSP on release, worst mistake i have made, bought hell of a lot of psp games when i had it (MG Portable ops, locoroco, extend every extra, mercury, GTA series, killzone, jeanne d'arc, lots of PS1 games and also had custom firmware with emulators and homebrew but still found it a pretty basic console.

as said earlier, play on your friends, find out games that you would want with the DS, but check games coming to the psp or games you want. you could regret it.

Hmm thanks guys

well you can acyually have internet browser on the ds

Yes you can I have it, it's rubbish and doesn't hold a candle to the one that comes free with the PSP. I would say the PSP's browser is more usable than even a Pocket PC's.

I got a PSP on launch and the lack of titles that interested me made me sell it and get a DS Lite. Best thing I did. I never used any features of the PSP like browser etc.

But I'm not saying the DS is better for you. It really does depend on the type of games your after. IMO the PSP is like a poor mans console. The games are not as good as console games even though they do look pretty good. The DS is innovative and allows me to have fun on the go.
