Got sound, but no picture from Wii

Just borrowed a Wii, and tried to get it up and running but failed miserably!

Its all wired up correctly using the red white and yellow cables, and to sound works fine - I just have no picture! Could the yellow socket on my TV be broken?

TV is a Panasonic TH42PX80

Umm.....how do you think we could answer that?

Only way to be sure is to connect something other than the Wii and check.

Also, was the person you borrowed the Wii from also using Composite (the yellow cable) to connect? It may be set to something different (i.e. Component).

Yeah it was set up like I have it now. I dont have any anything else to check with I dont think.

Im I right in thinking you can get a connector to plug the composite cables into making it into a scart?

Would you not be better off just buying a component cable?

I would, but im only borrowing it for a few weeks so not really worth it. Im mainly after knowing if it is likely that my TV socket is going to be broken, as its still under warranty
