I am everywhere...
I went to the shops on saturday (gamestation) and i picked up the following

One silver playstation2
One extra official pad
Official Memory card
Pro evo 5
Spectrum warrior (hammer head?)
Socom III.
Urban chaos - riot response.
Black

I noticed all of the games have "net play" (pro evo excluded) hence im gonna pick up an ethernet cable later on tomorrow, so as to experience sony online game play, especially the socom III. I played the online version on my psp and it was awesome....im looking forward to this!

The slimlime ps2 is kinda too compact for my liking, i actually prefer the original one with the cd sliding-case instead.

I heard the Black (by E A games  ) is actually quite good an all reviews gave it a good mark (an average of 9/10). All the games i bought apart from pro evo 5 are as a result of reviews - hopefully i wont regret it.

I paid 193.00 for everything, with the pro evo thrown in for free, i also had a discount of 70pounds  :D .
This is my last purchase (hopefully) before the arrival of the almighty-xbox-killer-apparantely-overpriced-next gen-Ps3!

Anyway, what do you think of my purchase and most importantly the games i bought? Anyone played online games via the ps2 before? Whatever you think, i.e maybe i was shafted, paid over the top or got a bargain.....Let me know!

Sincerely yours
El.....ElRazur

Slimline has one built-in :)

El - I'll give you a game of Pro Evo online later if you want :D

No problem, I need to pick up an ethernet cable from ******s store. Im at work at the moment hence im gonna do that tomorrow.
I am so excited......My first ps2 online game play

Email me or add me to your messenger (if you have one) [email protected]

Is there things i have to do as per connecting to the online game mode? Iirc i have to use my network pask key or something like that.....

EDIT
I think i bought the slime line - that's the small compressed and compacted ps2 right?

You need to register online and get a code sent by post to play official Sony online games (e.g. Socom), but Pro Evo shouldn't require that, you just need to setup your net connection and create a user account on PES5.

If it's about the size of a small book and you can fit it in one hand then yes ;)

You know, i actually prefer the first one with the sliding cd room thingy. Looks well built and not flimsy....Having said that, im gertting use to it i guess.

I admit it doesn't seem like much for your hundred quid :) I think it is impressive how they've got it into such a small package though. And it is quieter and I gather has faster DVD speed than the original model, plus is more reliable with the new flip lid DVD cover.

Couldn't you have waited 4 more months for a PS3? As I'm sure you're going to get one at launch, you could get another 2 games at least with the cash you spent on hardware :)

Isnt 193 for that a tad on the expensive side...especially if you had a 70 discount (or did you pay 123 after the 70 pound discount) considering the age of the console.
.

I had the feeling it might be too expensive, having said that all the games are brandnew.....I was also going on like a lil kid who want macdonalds in the game store at the time... :o . :p
