Hi All iGot the following All I need to do is choose a new mobo.
I currently have a 7900gtx xfx to go in my rig after deciding to ditch the 3800*2 I currently own being sold on to control vending machine!!! :p . i was going to update the main board on my 939 but I think a switch to the dark side has taken over control of my decreasing bank balance.

Parts in cart ready for purchase
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)
£214.95
MY-013-GS G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) (MY-013-GS) £147.95
Just give me your views on the best couple of mobos and I can close the deal and play early next week with a little luck.
ps when I switch to intel will most of my current operating system switch over with a few driver updates or will I need a complete format and start from scratch??
Phil

well for a mobo the 6600's seem to be performing better with the asus p5dh board! and the lower conroe's seem to perform better with the gigabyte boards, pure speculation but it's just what i have seen so far imo

asus mobo requires a bios flash  not rocket science I know butttttt (big but) :D this may be difficult as I dont own any other pentium cpus to fit this board any other suggestions, or are the new revisons fully duo compatable wthout bios flash  ?

That's not quite true about the G.Skill ram.

The NR G.Skill doesn't work with the DS3/DS4. There are numerous users running the HZ stuff just fine with the Gigabyte boards. There's even one on this very forum who - Asgard - who has had excellent results out of it. See the thread on Xtreme Systems for more info on the compatibility issues.

I'm still torn between the Gigabyte DS4 and Asus P5W DH Deluxe tbh.

EDIT: the latest p5w mobos come flashed with a newer bios that works with Conroe. However, I suppose you may be unlucky and get an old one.
