Probably cheaper to buy an ex surplus one from the US army. Chances are they nearly give them away after use.

I might be out of date here, but I know that a few years ago at least this was not possible - the military cut most of them up. I'm sure I have seen them for sale more recently though (still highly priced)

My older brother taught him self to weld.

How hard is it to teach your self that btw

Not hard at all but to do a first welding project like that is impressive.

Welding is the easy part. Actually producing a weld that actually holds? Thats a little harder
