US: Gotham (US spoilers)

Episode 3 is already looking good. We got a shot of Professor Pyg and he is one mental individual.

Last night's episode was quite good. I am just in love with Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle). Always saying "Cat" when people called her Selina. I have to say she is portraying young Selina really well. And her interaction with James Gordon. She totally had him right where she wanted him.

I'll be interested to see what happens to Nygma. As in what makes him become The Riddler.

As for Cobblepot. Yozwers! He is a bit of a fruitloop.

Loved Jada as Fish Mooney!

The scene with the female band in the club. I sure hope they weren't called "The Sirens". Hehe. ;)

Also, anyone notice two major DC Comics Easter eggs?

I'm not as much a DC Nerd as you!! :D ;)

Didn't see any EasterEggs!!

Haha!

The one with the trident logo hints towards Aquaman. And halfway through the episode we saw a building with a green Q on it. Which could hint towards one Green Arrow aka Oliver Queen.

It's good to see that Gotham is getting its own expanded universe. :)

I did wonder at the Green 'Q' I knew I'd seen it somewhere before!, didn't get the Aquaman link... "Aquaman Sucks Dude!" :D

For some reason I found episode 2 to be quite disjointed, and absolutely hated the kid catchers.

Ryan Atwood isn't so bad in it really but all I see is Ryan Atwood being all moody, Donal Logue on the other hand does an excellent job as do Jada Pinkett-Smith and the chap playing cobblepot.

Ill stick with it though, as someone said earlier in the thread its going to be interesting to see how certain characters evolve.

I agree about it being disjointed, while I don't want it to become just another cop show but based in Gotham I though ep2 jumped around too much and they need to focus on Gordon more. I know there needs to be the setting up of characters but there didn't seem to be any focus. For example I think they could have cut most of the Cat only scenes from the episode, leaving the ones where she is interacting with the police and it wouldn't have suffered. Apart from setting up the Penguins return what did his scenes add the episode? They could have been cut too and put into a later epiosde that focuses more on him rather than just having a few minutes in this episode.

Ep2 - Good enough to keep my watching but still nowhere near a must watch.

Isn't Penguin supposed to be a cockney geezer, or is that one of those things they change at will in any given production?
He's a bit young too eh?

Do like the show, but the way it veers between gritty and comic-like is a little jarring at times. The kiddie snatchers are a good example of that IMO.

How so? He looks mid twenties ish or more. Bruce Wayne doesn't become batman for another couple of decades so there's a long time before he becomes the villain you see in the movies.

Second part i agree with. I don't think the show knows what it's supposed to be yet. Personally i'd have preferred it just being dark and gritty and working towards the Gotham we all know over time. It's trying too hard atm.

Jada Pinkett Smith wasn't on my radar until this show. I couldn't even name anything she's done before but she's easily my favourite of this.

I like him in the role and the accent doesn't bother me but who ever did his lines got it slightly wrong. A Butler never would call people "Mate" infront of his employer or their dependants. Maybe he would to his backroom staff in privacy, but not how it was done in Gotham.

He's not a butler. He's a soldier working as a butler. I'm assuming there will be a flashback episode at some point.

If it's anything like the comic, it's also entirely possible he hasn't been playing at being a butler very long ;)

I watched the 1st 2 episodes last night. Went in thinking it wasnt going to be that good, but I am quite impressed. Few great characters/actor choices. This will hopefully be a very good series. Looking forward to watching Oswald go off the deep end(well even further).

Really enjoyed last night's episode! Fish, Oswald and Selina are the stand out characters for me!

I really loved the jousting scene between Alfred and Bruce. Reminded me of the exchange between them in Batman Earth One. But more light hearted.

Anyone else notice the way they say Falcone's name? They don't pronounce it Falconé. Kinda grates me to be honest. But I will get used to it.

I was a tad disappointed about The Balloonman. I was hoping he would be someone more menacing and had a purpose. Well he did have a purpose. He just didn't seem the villainous type. But then, it is Gotham!

I thought Bruce's line "He Killed, which makes him a Criminal" was a good point as it's the start of Batman's NOT killing anyone!

The Balloon Man was a bit weaker than I thought too!, not as organised and purposeful as he should have been, but maybe, as it's only his first outing, he'll be closer to our expectations if/when he comes back!

Really loving Fish (nomnomnom) and Oswald, no matter what he's doing, creeps me out!!
