The panel making up the governments fan led review into football was announced the other day:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-announces-expert-panel-for-fan-led-review-of-football

That's right, a fan led review containing one football supporter on the panel.

It was announced a short while earlier that Roy Hodgson has since been added to the panel :o The same Roy Hodgson that criticised Liverpool supporters who (peacefully) protested against our old owners during his time as Liverpool manager.

Anyway we can use this thread to discuss any changes that may happen to the way football is governed and any specific changes which have happened at individual clubs.

I know that Chelsea have announced that a fan representative will be able to sit in on board meetings but no influence on decisions. Liverpool have just agreed to set up a supporters board and it will be written into the articles of association that the club is required to consult with the supporters board regarding decisions relating to 'fan facing strategic matters' - in other words things like ticket prices all the way up to something like joining a European Super League. They wouldn't have to consult with them on things like signings or commercial deals.

Consulting just means asking or telling.

"would you like ticket prices to rise?"
"No?"
"Tough, 10% increase"
I should have explained, the supporters board will have a bloking mechanism to decide whether these 'fan facing strategic" decisions are approved or not. Who knows what exactly falls into this category however something like an ESL was specifically mentioned.
I have no doubt we'll bottle this too.
The fact that she, or any PL board director, is on this panel is a joke. No PL club wants an independent regulator and no PL club wants supporter ownership or 50+1 voting rights and yet one of the people that will decide whether it happens is a director of a PL club :o
