To be fair on him, Medal of Honor is a game on a conflict that's still going. WW1 & WW2 was a long time ago and society has moved on from it.
Trouble is, where do you draw the line as to what is deemed long enough?
There are plenty of examples that already exist in the media where you can argue that maybe it's too soon, but it's never stopped them.
9/11 for example.
Less than five years after it happened, there were already three films made purely as entertainment. (World Trade Center, United 93, Flight 93).
The real sticking point is that you are playing the Taliban, who are still killing soliders today. The conflict however started nine years ago, which is quite a long period of time, especially when you compare it to how quickly some of those films I mentioned were made.
As for terrorists?
Well, MW2 last year already went about as far as you could probably go in that aspect and it still got released. The MW series has also always had a terrorist faction to play in Multiplayer. In 'Command & Conquer: Generals' you can play as a terrorist faction much like a better version of the Taliban. It's not like there aren't already other games and films that deal with terrorism, some possibly even glamoring it.
I just think you are always going to upset the memory of somebody... the difference is, how many remaining WW2 survivors play or have ever played a video game that deals with the subject?
