Apologies if old news.....

Seems interesting, love to see how they do a flamethrower, the achievements being Player based would rock too, still dont think its enough for even me to start playing it

EGM has couple Gears of War rumors in their April issue. Firstly, they mention that Epic might have some DLC in the near future. Live Gamer's dpcough sent in a tip that seems to collaborate (Comment #9) on that, listing off 3 maps and 3 new weapons that could be headed to GoW. The Flamethrower, Plasma Canon and a pair of akimbo Uzis are added to your arsenal and the arenas Suburbs of Sera and a night and day versions of Locust Caverns will supposedly be coming on March 12th.

The second rumor is that the Achievements for Gears of War multiplayer will no longer be restricted to ranked play, allowing gamers to unlock them in player matches. Very interesting stuff, but beware, EGM is known for its rumors and Aprils Fools pranks. So, could this be legit, and if so, what do you think about the content and Achievement changes?

Sounds good to me..as long as they don't charge for it. I'm sure they won't.

Nice to see a developer PROPERLY supporting its games with patches, maps and other stuff.

I hope the do it so you dont have to play ranked mathces, sick of all the yanks and the lag.

Yep now that I would welcome. They have taken a bit of flak for the ranked match achievements. I would have liked to get them but after a few nasty games decided it wasnt worth the hassle.

Its just the same with PES 6 , forcing people to get them is not a great idea.

Yup god dame sick of it also

was playing saturday night with me m8 and 2 other brits all on locust team
and playing gridlock map and i was going for nades and i seen the HOST RUNING FOR NADES ALSO WHILE HE WAS RUNNING HE PICKED THEM UP (didnt even stop 2 do it )

i was like WTF ?? -- plus 1 other dude was sliding along the floor at the sniper tower ?

why and i mean why its just spoil's the god dame game

but way hay we won the match LMAO --

would be good if ya could tell if host was Brit or American so ya can join ????

Yeah I read about the weapons slide glitch on xbox GOW forum. Never even seen anyone do it on player matches. Apparently they use it all the time on canals to be the first to the sniper.

ive seen some person using a glitch on clocktower where they were shooting at people and skidding about really fast like he was sprinting all the time.

Yeah that gets used a lot. Never seen anyone from here use any of those on our player matches but nearly everytime I've played ranked someone or other is moaning about people glitching.

Hmm, I predict many complaints from people who've already put the hours in on ranked matches to get these.

Epic has said all DLC for GoW will be free. I can't find the link unfortunately, but it was on teamxbox.com (interview)

Dont see why. The purpose of ranked is for your worldwide ranking not the achievements. People are only playing ranked because they are points whores. The same people on xbox.com constantly moaning about boosters.

Who cares. If say you decide to get all the unlocks by spending hours killing mates who dont fight back I really couldnt care less. If you chose to boost so what its you being a sad act. All people are doing now is boosting in ranked rooms, so the rankings arent correct.

If I cared about where I was in the world I'd rather the boosters got their achievement points and mainly left ranked alone.

If someone gets the points playing friends legit they still put as much effort in but likely enjoy the game more.

Good to hear about the new weapons etc.

GoW I still enjoy a lot, I never really have any issues with GoW on ranked matches, glitching sometimes happens but it usually annoys everyone so after a few insults they usually stop.

Only game I usually play, according to my 360 blog I have played it the most by a loooooong way...
