GOW2 or L4D?

Hi guys,

Thinking about picking up a new game soon and I'm wondering if I should get GOW2 or L4D.

I never liked GOW1, maybe it's because I wasn't patient enough with it but I just couldn't get into it.

I've heard a lot of people say how good L4D is, but mainly I want an active online game, so would L4D be the way to go?

If you didn't like Gears 1 i would put money on you not liking Gears 2, it's pretty much more of the same (which for many is great!). L4D is designed to be an online game first and foremost so if you're after an online game that's the one for you.

Left 4 Dead seriously sucks in single player! Online is good but thats about it.

Gears 2 is buggy but I loved it.

There both good games, although I think GOW2 is way better overall, L4D just doesn't keep me coming back for more. I loved GOW1 too though, so there you go.

I've only played multiplayer on L4D and GOW2 but I hear the sp on GOW2 is awesome.

Gears 2 on the console. LFD on the PC.

Go for L4D if you want to play online but only do this if you have mates that also play!

GoW2 is broken online, L4D is the sensible choice.

Quite a few people seem to be overlooking the fact he didn't like gears 1. Seeing as the games are near identical in terms of gameplay surely that should instantly rule out gears 2?

LFD gets dull online fast, I found it to be overrated pap tbh. Then again I haven't tried GoW2 online to comment.

L4D if you didnt like gears 1, its pretty much gears 1, but with added bonuses.

Any chance you could suggest some other good online games then?

I've only had my 360 for a couple of weeks so I haven't really played many games but my current collection is :

Fifa 09
GTA IV
Mass Effect
Saints Row 2
TDU
Crackdown
Fable 2

Just played through for the first time on Hardcore, a couple of parts were a pita but I really enjoyed the game!

Although, it appears I have to replay the first game over again in order to get an unlock in the second game

Online for me though just doesnt work

single player is amazing though.
