Anyone know a good GPS device for when you're traveling? We have a Tomtom but there's no New Zealand maps for it. I was thinking that we just really need something to show us where we are generally so that if we ever get a little lost we have got a good chance of getting un-lost.

Maybe like a Garmin hand held GPS device with basic map support? Not sure, can anyone advise us?

Just land in NZ,

we will have a map.... But GPS can pinpoint us in seconds so we know exactly where we are at any time and then we can refer to a map.

EDIT: Looks like the Garmin Etrex CX or venture is a good option.. Wonder if I can leave it on when travelling to record everything and then when I get back import that data to Google Earth?
