i have a gou which i want to work on a 42" 1080p tv. it did not work on the tv because tht tv only used hdmi.

i have hooked it up to a smaller tv via vga.

could anyone advise me on how to change the setting where ever they are to hdmi 1080p so it will then work on my big tv.

cheers. roo

A GTX690 is your only hope here especially if you want to be able to web browse on it :>

Like he said a HDMI to VGA or DVI there not many pennies

the gpou does have hdmi but for some reason it wont reconise my tv. i used the vga cable with the smaller tv to install the drivers.

i am now nooked up to the smaller tv with the hdmi cable and it is giving me settings for 1080 tv. i am trying to see if i can find anything that will let me configure it to my big 42" tv

run both monitors at the same time so you can use the one that works as you may have a problem with a selected resolution on the 42"

i had a problem like this, my monitor was set at 1900x1200 ish when i plugged in my tv that will only run at 1600x1080 it would not work as the system was trying to run at the wrong resolution i had the set up 2 monitors so i could adjust the settings.

cheers lads.

having these problems i think i might just buy a monitor. the pv will be going into a different room anyway soon.

Is this TV a Toshiba by any chance? They have a trouble handshaking over hdmi with Ati/Amd cards. You need a HDMI repeater. I had the same issue and this solved it.
