For christmas im looking to freshen the setup up a bit, new desk, and fancied two new monitors to sit on the side of my beautiful LG 29UB65-P.
I play games such as CS:GO, World of Warcraft (getting a bit bored of it atm), WildStar, Fifa 16.
I am currently looking at the Samsung S24E510C on OCUK for £169.99 and putting them on either side of the UB65, BUT then ontop of that, i have my 32 inch TV that will be used mainly just for watching tv, but would be nice to plug in and use if necessary :p
What are my options to do all of this? As far as im aware mixed resolutions are allowed on AMD GPU's.
I currently have a R9290, but realise i will need an upgrade at this resolution as i love my fancy settings, but what GPU(s) would i be looking at?

Setup:
AMD 8320 @3.5Ghz
Corsair H100
MSI 990FXA-GD65
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
Sapphire Reference R9290
Corsair CX750w PSU

I understand the PSU will 150% need upgrading with another 290 or even a 390, what else and how would this run etc just advice really?

You can run up to 4 monitors/TVs from your 290, provided at least two of the ones on your DVI/DVI/HDMI ports are identical and are present at boot-up.

You'll be able to run your LG from the DP output on the card, then the 32" TV from the HDMI output (assuming that's what the TV uses), and then your two new monitors from the DVI outputs from the card. I would leave them all plugged in and simply use CCC to change Profiles to switch between TV and 3-screen setup, if that's how you want to switch between the two setups. Running different resolutions will be fine provided each is within the limit of that particular output, for example the HDMI tops out at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz from memory.

If you are running mis-matched resolutions you will find your memory on your 290 does not clock down at idle, so will stay at 1250MHz and will raise your idle temperatures on your GPU. Not a problem, just something that catches people by surprise and they think it's an issue where it's by design.

Are you going to be gaming across all three non-TV screens? If you're still planning on gaming on just the single 29" LG then you won't need to upgrade the GPU or your PSU as performance will be the same as running just the single screen. It's a little like taking a passenger in your Ferrari, technically your laptime will be slower due to the extra weight, but it won't be noticeable! If you are planning on running games across all three screens, then I'd definitely look into a second 290 as I've loved the performance of my Crossfired 290's at 5760x1080. However, at that resolution (or yours at 6400x1080) some games do use up a lot of VRAM, so you might be better off selling the 290 and buying 2 x 390's for the extra. Depends how much you want to spend on the upgrade and if the games you play are VRAM hogs or not.

I think it would be pretty damn awesome to play on all 3 screens just finding games that support it! Fifa(EA) suck and dont even support 2560x1080 despite massive demand.
Whether or not the hassle of selling my 290, and convincing myself the extra £350 is worth it or not is another matter, surely a second hand 290 off ebay or the such, getting a corsair HG10 and whacking a watercooler on them, that will still be cheaper by about £100 which leaves room for a new case :D

I'd wait till next year before spending too much on a gpu. Check how crossfire performs in your games of choice and if it works okay grab a 390 for crossfire till then if you need more grunt.
I would also sell my 29" 21:9 and buy a 34" 21:9 with Free-sync. Grab a 3440x1440 and you'll have plenty of real estate.

Why do i come on these forums, it just ends up more expensive :p

If you're going to stay with the red team yeah not much point spending that much, however I'd say if you want top of the line nvidia then it's probably always a good buy, high resale value would mean you wouldn't spend too much if you jump on the pascal ship quickly.

I am not really fussed, but i would like to help play my part in keeping AMD alive as i like them as a company, and have always preferred their products, over their more expensive counter parts!
I see what you mean about the resale value as the 780 is still really expensive, considering the 290 beat it in most benchmarks and is like £150 more used!
Heres what my options are at the moment:

Stick with 290, sell my current 29 inch ultrawide and;
Get a 144hz Freesync 1440p monitor
Get a 4K monitor
Get a 34 inch ultrawide 3440x1440 144hz freesync

And others i could/should consider? I like my colours (IPS), but would like to consider my options as i want something more gaming focused, ISH!
Money, is relatively an issue and I cant go out spending £1000 on a monitor for no reason, but if there is worthiness in it, i would, if you get what i mean, value for money basically!

Thanks
