Hi so my birthday comes up around Christmas and my girlfriend agreed to buy me a titan x a few months ago but I'm unsure if its worth the money.
Some stats I've seen say the 980 ti is basically as good but cheaper.

What's peoples opinion on this? is it worth the extra, am I better upgrading somewhere else, maybe cpu?
Or waiting till next year for the next range of gpu's to come out.

My specs are:
Gigabyte Z87M-D3H Motherboard
Intel Core i5 4670K
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz Gaming RAM
gtx 780 ti

Firstly, can I meet your girlfriend? :p

Secondly, if she is buying at Christmas, we are getting a lot closer to 16nm GPUs (Pascal/Greenland) and these will be quicker than what we currently have. Nvidia are rumoured to be launching Pascal in Q1 or early Q2 of 2016, so even though the 980Ti will be the better choice (even if buying now), would you want to get a 980Ti or wait possibly 4 months and get something beefier?

Yea I meant to mention id heard about pascal being a lot faster and coming out next year, If this is true id get a voucher for ocuk *edited** etc so I could buy one next year.
I didn't know it was so soon after Christmas though.

I'd straggle along until Pascal when spending that amount of money tbh.

780Ti is going to hold up fine until let's say May next year.

I'd remove the name of that competitor too :p

Haha I actually went to the ocuk shop to check for vouchers there now, I wasn't sure which was why I posted the other site.
And yea I think you are right about waiting for the newer models, it makes more sense which is why I was having doubts.

Thanks for the help.
