I posted on the general hardware forum yesterday asking about a relatively cheap £200-£300 upgrade to my machine:

Case - Antec 300
Mobo - Asus P5Q Pro
Graphics Card - HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
Memory - GSkill 4Gb DDR2 PC2-8500C5 (2x2Gb)
CPU - Core2 Duo E8400 @3.00GHz
Cooler - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
PSU - Corsair TX 750W
HDD - Samsung Spinpoint F1 500Gb

It semmed fairly unanimous that a gtx460 was the answer, but I am a little concerned about whether my antec 300 case will cope with the heat. Has anyone any experience/advice to offer.

Incidentally I was leaning towards the 1Gb Gigabyte card.

Going from reviews of most 460's they all run relatively cool, the gigabyte one is especially cooler runiing than other 460's, quieter as well. Your case is fine for a 460.
