GPU advice

The current offers have persuaded me against waiting for the GTX660 to be released. I'm looking for a decent quiet card to play Guild Wars 2, Mechwarrior Online and Far Cry 3 when they are all released. I'm not too bothered about overclocking.

Will these GPU cards work with my system?

System - This is my current fairly old build:
CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 955
GPU - Radeon HD5770
RAM - 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 2678MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard - Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-MA785GT-UD3H (Socket M2)
Monitor - Acer X223W (1680x1050@60Hz)
PSU - OCZ StealthXStream 700W
OS - Windows 7 x64

I'll probably go for the 7870, but is that (or the 7950) too high powered for my system? i.e. would I be better going for the 7850 to avoid bottlenecks?

At prices like these it's probably not worth waiting for the 660...

Either the 7850 or the 7870 will be fine, but you may be slightly bottlenecked by your CPU. Have you over clocked your CPU at all? If not do that, it will help.

the 7950 is probably a bit overkill for your system.

watch out for hd gigabyte hd7850,people got some problems with that card

Have you over clocked your CPU at all? If not do that, it will help.

How do I do that? Noob question I know, but if there's an idiots guide you can point me in the direction of then that would be appreciated.
