hello

I need some help as to what graphics card i should get. Was looking at the msi 7850 1gb but seeing as i have a AMD athlon ii X2 255 @ 3.1ghz this is likely to limit the performance at my resolution of 1440X900.

How much less performance do you think a GTX 550 ti or a radeon 7770 will give at this resolution?

i mostly play BF3

This for 1440 x 900, but if you do upgrade to a 1080P monitor you will find yourself pushing 1GB of vRAM.

Had another thought though. How would a A10 5800k perform @ 1440X900 on BF3 compared to my athlon ii X2 @3.1ghz with a 7850?

The A10-5800K will do BF3 on low to mid setting at that res, the 7850 will monster it though.

Good point,
That CPU is a problem. It's hard to say how much of a bottleneck it is, if it was an x4 it would be much better.

I think it's about even either way, FM2 MOBO + APU will cost the same as the 7850, but then your stuck with not much GPU power.

If you could find a cheep 4 core chip to drop in, that would be good.
