Currently sorting out my first pc build and have sorted out most of it but need to decide on gpu, current pc possible pc build:

9700x/9800x3d
msi b850 edge ti
64 gb ram
850/1000w psu
2/4tb m.2 drives

i dont need advice on the build only on the gpu, i have choosen 9070 xt and sticking with that but need to choose between brands and models, will be playing at 1440p.

choices are :

XFX Mercury OC RGB Radeon

PowerColor Red Devil OC

Sapphire PURE Radeon

need to find out my best option based on performance, noise, overclocking if needed, cooling and reliability.

i can only speak about the one i have used on that list
the sapphire pure 9070xt
ive had one since a few weeks after launch i use it for normal computing internet etc for in excess of 12 hours a day plus a bit of more actually taxing stuff ive done a lot of messing about with undervolting clocking it a bit messing about with the fan curves and then doing lots of 3dmark and superposition runs etc
nothing but good things to say about it i love mine and have zero regrets

Just a quick comparison says XFX continue to go for monster sized cards: XFX Mercury is 360mm long. I guess it is something to be aware of in terms of case choice.

The other thing which stands out on those three is the Sapphire Pure "only" has 2 x 8-Pin PCIe while the others have 3x 8-Pin PCIe. Well that and 3x100mm fans vs 2x100mm and 1x90mm for the Sapphire. I am unsure whether I'd actually attempt to overclock a modern GPU - or any recent silicon - since so much runs near their limit these days, but on paper the XFX and Powercolor should be better at overclocking. Although that is without looking at reviews to try to figure what components are used for power delivery etc.

How about approaching the choice from a different angel: most of those GPUs are pretty similar so concentrate on GPU vendors warranty etc. and the general consumer service of the retailer?

They are all good cards no duds there. I’ve got the mercury and it is a very big card. It runs cool and the RGB strip looks fab.
