Hi
Ive recently built an itx system in a silverstone raven rvz01 and was wondering about any negative effects from having two standard thickness 120mm fans blowing directly onto the gpu (palit 770 non reference) as opposed to the slim ones that come with the case. There isnt much space between the case fans and gpu fans (a few mm maybe) but they fit no problem and they are taking in cool outside air.

I havnt found any info about it and whether there needs to be a certain amount of space in between the gpu fans and case fans in order to see a positive effect.

The reason i ask is that the 770 is still reaching the mid 80s which i thought was a little high so i thought it maybe had something to do with that.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply,

the fans i use are the noctua focused flow ones which have quite a high static pressure which i assumed would work best, plus i had them lying around.

I then saw pictures of someone elses build using the other type with large gaps between the blades so i thought maybe they would have some kind of positive effect with the airflow in such a tight space compared to the ones i have.

Reducing hot air being recycled from the gpu as its pushed out? i dont really know, guess its just a case of testing out a few methods with different fans.
