Hi everyone

Looking for your practical advice peeps.

Not been around for a while so trying to catch up and read through posts about this - there's a lot that I have missed.

Came to my PC for the first time in about 6 months recently and bought the legend edition of Skyrim :)

I want to get a new monitor (27 inch +) as I currently use a 22 inch for gaming and a 19 inch second monitor for multiple windows etc.

I need the space on my desk so one monitor is the aim.

I mostly play games and internet on the rig so no work functionality really needed.

Thing is; I cant afford both at the same time but I am annoyed at playing on a small screen when I have seen so many better alternatives.

I like the super-wide screens :) what GPU can I consider without talking about Titan prices?

I had an idea of £500-600 for both GPU and monitor if that gives a good ranged budget?

Any tips or experiences welcome.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Agree with what tonester said.

Skyrim with mods will run really well at that resolution on those GPUs. If using an ENB I would recommend an nvidia card as the work better (due to the developer's limited access to amd hardware)

I love the look of those LG monitors!!

Do you think my current crossfire setup would handle the monitor if I get that first or best to get the 290 first?

I'm leaning towards the 290 because I want to help AMD out lol I like to go for the underdog when there's not much to lose in quality.

lol I like your answer as I wanted to get the card first but couldn't justify it to myself other than sheer excitement lol

Ordered the Asus VG278HE 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor - Black :)

Cant wait but think I missed the cut off to get it today... with xmas round the corner I think a 970 will be next he he :)

I don't expect many people to read or comment on this but please be proud of me for first finally getting 1080p monitor with 144hz frequency and now ordered a GTX980 :)

CANT WAIT!!!

Need some games to test the power out now lol :)
