GPU best port to use

I just recently bought a Gainward Phantom GTX 970 and didnt realise that the HDMI port was a mini one so instead i bought a Mini DP Adapter but since connecting the HDMI cable to it i am frequently experiencing the monitor blacking out on me and upon testing the connection between the cable and adapter it seems to be loose.

Now i am not sure whether i need a newer or better HDMI cable or whether it would be better to get an HDMI to mini-HDMI cable instead. Obviously the cheaper the better.

unfortunately no. its only got 2 hdmi and 1 d-sub

lol he just said it doesn't have this.....

what res is your monitor? unless its something really high just do mini-hdmi to hdmi. will be the cheapest cable too
