Hey, is there a better gpu than my 6800, that isn't massive?
, i've tried a NITRO+ AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT, which was too big for my MB/case combo, I'd love to try the 6950, but I think that is even bigger going by the spec sheets!

Just not possible yet. Since cards get smaller when they're less powerful/power hungry and there's not enough headroom, because equivalent RDNA 3 cards are barely any faster than RDNA 2 in games. Worse still, the 7800/7700 generally have huge PCBs. The best compromise would be a sidegrade (4070), as you can get pretty compact 4070s.

Why don’t you get a reference 7800Xt MBA (can be had for £499 and Avatar) which will fit and can be overclocked quite nicely to match a 6950XT (https://youtu.be/k4lP21ovt7A?feature=shared)

thanks, and thanks again for making it easy for me with a link, it looks like I might get something that I want for xmas after all!
It’s tiny in my case and according to what I’ve read online, it should fit in SFF cases etc.

7800Xt MBA
I went for it and got this gpu, it's under the xmas tree, and I'm trying to be patient for xmas day to open it, just like the 80's/90's when i'd get a C64, or an amiga for xmas, a s long as it's not too hard for my mum to install then all will be good, i'll come back and say how well it went, when it is all in, and I'm a happy little xmas bunny

You’ll not regret it. I’ve been really impressed by it contrary to initial review comparisons to the 6800xt. Once overclocked (see YT video I linked and explore this YouTubers’ videos on overclocking the reference model) it will match the 6950XT and will consume 100w less! Getting 160-180fps at Extreme settings at 1440p in MW3 for example. Pre-overclock was getting 140-160fps. My gain is 12% fps uplift in all of my recent AAA games.

Got a Timespy Extreme score of 10400 which essentially matches that of the 6950xt.

Will be relevant for a good few years (maybe 5 even).
