Anyone on here into BIOS modding? Been playing with older cards myself and wondering if anyone else is weird like that?

I did for the GTX 780 to remove the power limits and remove turbo boost so it ran at a controlled speed and voltage. Was fun pushing nearly 500W through the card (with only 300W of pcie cables it was slightly risky) for benchmarks.

I think since then they encrypted the bios files so they couldn't be modified as easily.

Kepler is the best Nvidia to do. Doing Maxwell right now. Also done some early stuff like Curie as well.

The last card I used a real baked BIOS on was an 8800 GTS about 17 years ago. Those were good times.

Software options are much better nowadays.

I don't have any need for workstation GPUs. Interesting to know though.

Quadros can be a nice way to get a better GPU cheaper. (Not always). Check the GPU you want on TechPowerup and then find where that chip appears in different cards ;)

I buy through my PLC and run on water which limits block compatibility. I don't pay retail prices or VAT. ;)
