Thinking about a chiller for my gpu, just for benching purposes.
If i use the quick disconnects in my loop and on the chiller, so i can swap between the 2, will this work???
and will a 400w model be enough to take temps right down??? and any idea to what sort of temps i could achieve?

no by all means, carry on, you just reminded me about voltage!!! not seen a hard mod for the lightning, will keep looking, otherwise maybe a waste of time.

You probably won't find a hard mod guide for a Lightning unfortunately, due to the ABX factor Gregster mentioned, anyone over-volting them will have ABX and a different vBIOS :(

The 'Cheap' chiller way would be to use a mutli-loop setup, a pelt and a heat-exchanger for dual loops (koolance make one iirc). You could just kill the pelt/second loop (for cooling pelt) when its not required. Though I don't trust pelts at all and this setup would require 3 loops :o

You could try asking at XS or similar for some volt-modding advise though, a shame no-one has figured out artmoney for the 7970's yet :(

So realistically unless i can get more volts into it, extra cooling will be pointless?

Dont know if i'm brave enough to mod my lightning yet!! with my current loop temps, i could still do with another 0.1-0.15v, with a scythe GT5400 blowing on top of card max temp i get is 32c on the vrm's and about 42c on the core with 1.362v pumping through it. Might give cammy a shout and see what his thoughts on on the subject, he has a chiller and did have lightnings.
Over on kingpin cooling forums some one is in the process of hard modding a Titan ;)

So is ABx a set voltage limit or is it tailored to the individual? And how can you prove when applying for it that you know what your doing etc, Hardly gonna try phase/ln2 etc if your limited to 1.362v.
