I was just wondering if i could get some opinions on graphics cards for such a high resolution. I've been looking at some Benchmarks of the Nvidia 690 in SLI, the scaling at x4 evidently is a sharp drop off as most can tell but does give that +60fps most of the time that i am looking for but does anyone have any other cards you can recommend? I've been looking at the TITAN cards that seem to perform really well and i was looking at two of them however id really like them to be Watercooled to be honest.

Oh i'd like to stick to Nvidia, mainly for PhysX reasons.

I was going for this system:

- HAF-X (Anyone also suggest a better case? I have a HAF-X already and love it but id maybe like to try an Obsidian D800 or COSMOS II?)
- Intel i7-3970X Extreme Edition Six-Core 3.50Ghz heavy Overclock
- Watercooling (750res and 360m Radiator)
- Asus Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79
- 32GB or 16GB of DDR3 2133MHz RAM
- Corsair 1050 (1000w PSU)
- 250 GB Samsung 840 (1TB (250GBx4) Raid 0
- 2TB (2TBx2) Raid 1)
- 3 x Asus 27" VG278H

And then just usually basic stuff.

I'd say a no money object build though i will pull some ropes now and then to keep things from getting two crazy but i guess its a little late for that.

Yup. Titans. Nothing more to say on the matter. LoL

HAF-X is the one case that is guaranteed to fit anything in. Anything can fit in there, you could build a mini washing machine inside one. It's a superb case. I miss having one.

It's a noisy case though, but who cares about that.

I would go for SLI Titans. Fantastic monitors and the best for 3D surround :)

Two Titans play anything I chuck at them but beware of Crysis 3... It is a game that can bring any system to its knees

Well after a quick glance at some Benchmarks 2 x TITANS seem to perform better than 3 x TITANS though with that in mind i could always disable one card unless i know it gives better performance (Also taking into consideration the Drivers still have time to improve) but by looking 2 x TITANS always seem to be outperforming almost everything. I shall look into this further.

Yeah the HAF X is not exactly the silent case of the Year however it's more for space and performance but i love it. Id be more than happy to get another.

Drivers are shocking with three and four mate. I am waiting to unleash four card benches but the scores are not what they should be even with massive CPU power. Driver development is needed for sure.

Two is the safe option.

Go 16gb of RAM for performance, 32gb is for nothing other than saying I have 32gb!!!

When you say "Fantastic Monitors" do you mean the one's i have listed? As i'll be honest i really don't know a great deal about Monitors other than ISP monitors but chose them because they are made by ASUS who i trust and seem very well built, it was either 3 of them or two of the ISP Dell monitors so im hoping i chose good :D

Yeah i will admit, i am a programmer but 8GB is more than enough 16GB would be insurance and 32GB would be "look how much i need attention!" but i will still debate but logically that's something i will undoubtedly pull the ropes on and just get 16GB.

Yeah the Monitors are 120Hz, if it's because i seem to be l leaning to 60Hz i think thats just because i've used those numbers for so long now it's just natural, im not sure if the 120Hz on those monitors only enabled when you turn on 3D but my knowledge of monitors is pretty limited.

Yep, the VG278H ones.

I run those exact monitors and for 3D, you will not get any better (plenty of forums agree on this). The 2D colour is good but does need some tweaking to make it vibrant.

They are 120Hz monitors and give a real smooth experience. Stay clear of 60Hz unless you go IPS. I can't speak for IPS panels, because I have never owned one or paid much attention when I have seen one.

What res are you running at?

i get the same kind of fps on 3 screens with 3 cards as i get with 1 card on 1 screen... if you are benching 3 or 4 cards on one screen then that is a slightly different ball game to what the op is asking about...

I'll have to be honest, im not a lover of 3D but it's always a nice option to have if i want something different and the 120Hz, i am gladly one of those who can appreciated the higher refresh rate.
