Hi all

On payday this month i'm going to treat myself to a new GPU (or used).. I only game at 1080p and will not be changing to 1440p until Christmas probably, Anyway i'm looking to spend upto £250 on a GPU so i'm looking for recommendations from you all...

Shall i go used or maybe go 1660S? I'm not sure so please feel free to add your opinions.

I play:

  • Fifa 20
  • PUBG
  • Escape from Tarkov
  • ETS 2
  • Crash Bandicoot (the wife plays it :p)
I may buy Moto GP20 aswell!

Isn't £250 overkill for those games? I'd have thought a 570 would suffice at 1080p? Pretty much anything faster would do the business, no problem for a 1660S.

Had an RX590 8GB but selling most the components to fund a new project :)

Don't think they will take me serious if i put in a £250 offer for that GPU :p I was considering the 2060 range for a bit extra
 
Don't buy that Asus TUF, it's just over 300 elsewhere and it's utter garbage. Barely any memory or vrm cooling as the heatsink doesn't make any contact.
Fine if water cooling, otherwise it's worse than a blower card, far far worse.

People have been getting that kind of discount thats why the clearance section GPU's are almost gone, there used to be 6-7 pages.
 
They can always say no or come back with a counter offer. I got a GTX 2060 for £200. Not just GPU's always put an offer in or ask for a reduction on any B grade item.

Jeez i'll enquire then as i have left a post in Customer service regarding a 2060 and a 5700... Did you ring?
 
Yes there was a post in the Latest News about selling B grade stuff off originally you messaged the OP with the offer, he accepted then I rang up and bought it. So you have done the right thing and leave a message in CS. Probably get an answer tomorrow. Alternatively just ring up tell them what item you want and the offer they will then ask the section manager, probably Gibbo and then you get a yeah or nah with a counter offer.

Actually after selling the old GPU it basically cost me £125 for a GTX 2060.
