Good morning chaps.

It appears my rebuilt Shuttle hasn't sprouted any water leaks overnight so I shall connect the power up today and install XP. It has got 2 512mb 1950XTXs so I plan on giving the GPU client a whirl.

Which ATI drivers do I need ?

I presume Crossfire must be disabled too ?

Are there any other tips to getting it up and running you can impart.

Cheers

The following versions of Catalyst are known to work with the GPU client:

* 6.5
* 6.10
* 6.11
* 7.2
* 7.3
* 7.4

I believe Crossfire needs to be disabled and the client will effectively run two WUs side by side on your setup.

Info for installing is at the bottom of the Stanford FAQ - http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-ATI.html

I'm sure I've missed a lot more but that should get you going at least - hope the cooling is up to the task :)

Cheers for that.:)

I'm unsure whether I am supposed to fit the Crossfire Cable linking the 2 GFX Cards. Any ideas?

Oh, and I must be inept, can't get the darned thing running at all.:(

we need uncle_fungus in here STAT! :p :D

I have no experience at all with dual GPUs, though it is the same client anyway - what have you done and where's it getting stuck?

I took the dongle off the back of the GFX cards and ran the analogue lead from the secondary card to my monitor and the digital lead from the master card to my monitor, this allowed 2 displays to be activated as per the FAQ's.

I downloaded the Multiple GPU Client, stuck it in a folder called GPU1 and ran as configonly to set it up, oddly it's the same as the CPU Client. I added the command line bit -GPU 0 for the mastercard and it fired up:

The error seems to be:

Code:
CoreStatus = C0000135 (-1073741515)
Client-core communications error: ERROR 0xc0000135

It downloaded work, tried to process it and returned that error 5 times before electing to go to sleep.

The instructions on the FaH FAQ's are a bit vague so perhaps it's something simple. I will have a rummidge through their forums later on.

BTW: Cooling is ace, 42 at idle.
