Soo I hi-jacked my own thread a while ago with a GPU issue and it's fallen into the depths of the forum :P, so I thought I'd create a separate thread and see where it went.

It looks like my old (first) 7950 is sagging:

sorry in advance these pictures are massive (and taken from my phone):

so in this picture we have my old gpu as the master and you can see it's not completely horizontal and seems to sag a bit

this picture is a close up of my new gpu straight on and no issues can be seen

now this picture is of the older gpu where you can see that it looks like the gpu is coming away from itself (can see some blue underneath too)

This is a close up at a slight angle showing the issue in a more apparent way

and of course for reference the new gpu close up at the same angle

so - whats up? the card looks to be slowing coming away from its casing - seeing as its been in the case from last year I didnt notice it untill Ive had to put the new gpu in and side by side it was very apparent - are long term issues possible? whats the advice for this? thanks again - no issues my graphics so far, but I'm just wondering if it keeps up will it eventually cause me an expensive issue in the future.

I'd have a little twiddle on the four screws on the rear of the card in the centre. They're the one attaching your cooling to your card and just check they've not come loose at all. Other than that, if you're not experiencing any issues, such as core temperature rises or overclocking issues, then I'd say don't worry about it.

If it really bothers you, could consider one of the Silverstone cases with the 90 degree rotated motherboards so the cards hang straight? Worked for me! :)

Temps are pretty good, considering its in the top slot and all, no OC issues (yet!- finsgers crossed), might have a look and see if any of the screws have loosened - could be a simple fix eh, thanks for the reply :) - and rather than spending money on a new case - just lay my case on its side eh :P lol
