Can anyone help me answer a connection question...

I am looking to build a Pc which will sit under my TV in a Silverstone GD05. I am not sure how I will connect it to a display which will sit six feet away (which I want to have Sound and Audio) and to my TV or surround sound amp (via HDMI).

I would love some advice on what connections I need to ensure are on the GPU, MOBO and display. Do I even need a GPU or could I just use onbourd graphics. I do not game on Pc at the moment but do enjoy Xbox (am I missing something special??).

Thank for any suggestions..

Sadly not all motherboards have onboard graphics, if yours does then yes you will be able to use onboard, but it will only have a DVI Analogue connection, your TV should have one too just like a monitor.

However if you want to use HDMI you will need a GPU that supports HDMI capabilities, although you can also buy a DVI to HDMI cable.

Audio should be transmitted thoroughly through the graphics port, however a sound card is recommend for things like surround sound etc.

If you want to connect more than one display, most graphics cards come with more than 1 DVI or HDMI connection.

If you only have a Graphics card or decide to use onboard Graphics you can also buy a splitter, 1 cable goes in (From PC) and 2 or more come out (To TV or PC ETC)

Xbox would be connected to TV so the PC has nothing to do with it. You could use onboard graphics but i would go for a card that has an inbuilt sound card and connect it to the TV using HDMI - you can get a 6 foot HDMI cable:

This graphics card should solve your audio and graphic needs:

I am not too sure if that card has audio - i would call OcUK sales on: 0871 200 5052

Thanks for the relpies...

I have not got anything yet so have a lot of decisions to make...I set myself budget of £500 but with a new display and the expensive case (I have my heart set on) I am struggling...the computer will mostly be used for simple internet browsing but I am really tempted to get into Pc Gaming since I started looking into building a computer and how you guys and girls love it...to complicate further Sandy Bridge is coming do I wait for a bagain...

Too many decisions Soo many reviews...nightmare..
