GPU conundrum.

Hello everyone.

Earlier this year I bought my self the beginnings of my computer ie everything apart from the GPU due to the new cards coming out soon, I thought itll be fine using my really old HD7970.

started playing pubg and Tarkov and my little 7970 doesnt hold a frame rate above 30 anymore and that's with everything set to as low as possible.

My question for you is, would you hold out for the new GPUs or buy one now as I do have £400 to spend on one and as I only play 1080p 60fps I wouldn't need a silly 2080 or something, how ever with the new consoles coming out we are due for a massive leap in graphics and I wouldn't want to have to buy another card late next year to keep up with a series X for example plus raytracing aswell it's all up in the air.

I'd love to hear your opinions.

1660 Super for around £200 would be a good move. Perfect for 1080p.

I would buy now. The 1660 Super suggested above is an excellent choice.

I've looked at the 1660 super and thought about saving up for a faster card.

If you are playing now worth buying nowml. Could always resell the card if switching to a console

Wouldn't want to switch to a console as just bought AMD 3600 with mobo and ram etc

I just want something that will either be future proof or just something to get me through the 10months until I know exactly what tier of card I'll need to be better then a series X.
