GPU cooling ideas??

Just been toying with a few ideas for cooling a GPU. wanted peoples inputs.

i've got the 800d case.. which i don't want to put a fan on the side of.

Was wondering if you can get any PCI E cards which INTAKE air.

So it could draw cool air from the back of the computer (maybe 2 slots below my GPU)... Then blow the air upwards directly onto the fan of the GPU.

I've seen a few fans, but they all have the fan in a downward position, and some of them are exhaust fans.

Does anyone know of a good intake fan which will blow upwards?

or any other suggestions :)?

I think thats more of a aftermarket cooler for the GPU. I was after something to go into a seperate PCI slot...

Kinda like the LianLi bs 07....

But thats an exhaust fan, i want that in reverse, so it sucks more air into my case and blows it onto my GPU, as my Graphics card already exhausts air out of it.. just wanted the air it was to be recieving constantly there and constantly cool.

Those pci fan things wouldn't be long enough to reach the typical area where the graphics card fan would be. I do wonder, though, if the fans can't be switched around in them.

What about some form of ducting?

Antec spot cool is a solution provided you have a fan airtake nearby.

You could make a duct from the 140mm fan below the gpu or even place a fan there to blow cold air in its direction?

Do you have any extra fans on the 800D or just the ones that came with it?

The case really needs extra fans to get cold air into the case.

Best way to cool a gpu is buy aftermarket cooler only bother with the slot coolers if u have multiple cards

True. Like the one I fitted a few days ago. Cool and Quiet. Hopefully I will be able to use it again on my next card too. Won't be going Crossfire or SLI anytime soon with this behemoth though.

get a Accelero XTREME Plus vga cooler. here is the manufacturers link:

Still a bit off-topic.

I almost got one. The thing is you buy the heatsink and fan assembly for £40ish then you have to send away to Arctic cooling for a RAM/VRM heatsink package so it ends up being just as expensive as the Thermalright.

On-topic.

I've never really noticed that much difference when directing air into my graphics card. My case temperature is just a couple of degrees cooler than ambient in the majority of time so at best you get a few degrees difference and my case is pretty low airflow. If your card is running that hot (90+ degrees or so) then it's time to crank up the fan speed or blow out some of the dust.

Didn't want to put a fan on the side of my case, and i've put a fan in the front of it, and didn't really like it, so i've took that out aswel...

However, i've planned on changing a few things...
