GPU Cooling

Hi,

I've been having a problem with overheating and artifacting on my GPU lately. I'm building a new C2D rig with an 8800GTS 512 in January but until then, I have to suffer with my X1900XT.

At the moment I have a desk fan blowing onto it and it seems to be doing the job but I would be fine shelling out ~£20 (maybe a little more) out on a more permanent cooling solution if it would work.

So what do you reckon I should go for?

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1. It'll even work with the GTS when you get it.

Is that the item you mean? I was looking at the X2 but is the S1 better?

S1 is miles better than stock, and better than Zalman VF900 (cooler and quiter) have a 12cm fan @7v. 33 idle, 50 load.

out of interest, what case are you using? is your current case supplying enough air around the graphics card area?

I've got a LianLi PC7 which seems to have decent airflow. Leaning towards the AC S1 at the mo.
