GPU cover on MX4000?

Well see this is the thing, usualy the Die itself is really small. If that is the chip itself, then fine. But if it isnt, and it is just a cover, then i want to get rid of it.

Woodsy

judging by the two dimples id say it was a cover, but it will be sealed on pretty damn tight.

Why are you taking it off?

No real reason, apart from its passivly cooled atm, and the what looks to be plastic cover cant be that good at heat conduction. Also because im bored. (i really should be revising - procrastination is a killer is it not?)

:o

EDIT: And yes your absolutely right. It is stuck on damn tight!

Its the die itself I believe, its set in some material, but there is no way of removing it. You can lap GPUs in that type packaging though I seem to remember.
