Trying to do a bit of remote fault finding for my brother in law.

His pc's recently given him this -

Fresh install, up to date drivers, does it on both DVI & HDMI, monitor is fine on another PC.

I assume it's the GPU dieing? If so is the standard <£150 replacement still an R9 380 / GTX960 (depending on if he'll use GFE extras over a few fps)?

PC is FX6300, HD7850, Gigabyte 970A, XFX Pro 650w
