Hi,

wondered if someone can help. I have just built my first rig and borrowed a friends spare GPU short term to see what the reviews were like with Nvidia series. Not sure should I wait for the 5070/5070ti to be released or just purchase the 4070ti?

I guess it depends on how quickly you want it, I dont expect the 5070/Ti to be much better in stock... maybe a little bit due to having a little bit more time but its still chinese new year so production has stopped for all class cards.
It depends on what you can get the 4070Ti for as well.
If you add about 10-15% on top of 4070 and Ti to roughly work out what the performance uplift is going to be and then look at there MSRP of the FE and add £100+ on top for an AIB (depending on what one you go for) that will determine whether the value and uplift is worth it for you.

You sacrifice a lot for this option though. It's not like it used to be where you could just pick the cheaper brand and there were only minor differences.

The 9070XT is going to have FSR4 which looks like it will rival DLSS quite easily and judging by the leaks it will have as good RT performance as a 4080.

If you have nothing and the spare doesn't need to go back in say the next month there's no harm waiting to see what the midrange options coming out are like.

We will wait and see...
They've said the same thing about every FSR revision and so far none of them have lived up to it. Now DLSS has taken another big leap forward when FSR still hasn't caught up to the last version

RT they're likely to have caught up quite a bit with their new cards, but I won't believe the rumors until I've seen the proof. I do find them more believable this time though.
Prior false claims make it hard to judge. Even today people say the 7900XT & 7900XTX have caught up when they haven't. There are titles with very light RT where current AMD cards look like they can handle RT, but as soon as you throw something with heavy RT or PT their way, they drop to 3070 levels of performance.

There was an actual demo shown at CES and everyone was impressed since it was running at 4K Performance. Has very good quality probably on par with DLSS transformer model.
