gpu decisions

Hey all,

Just a quick one really. Im putting a new rig together and im in need of a beasty gpu.

Ive been looking at the following...

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce 3x "GHz Edition" 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **OcUK Exclusive**

Is this a good choice or shall I go amd r9 290 route?

i would personally go for the msi 290 oc, i have just got one yesterday and it is a beast of a card!
it is slightly better than the 780 and if you play bf4 then i would definatey get it because mantle is out soon

Can't go wrong with either card.

Pretty even, but the 290 is cheaper.

A 290 is faster than a 780, the card you picked is an overclocked 780 so the results will be pretty close.

Mmm i've only gone and bought that 780 now but thinking that I should have gone for a 290x, as it's faster. I think I might RMA the card when I get it tomorrow, I've also got a 280x that was delivered today that i'll be RMAing also (it hasn't been opened/used, I just changed my mind and went with the 780, now changed my mind again) lol.


I've been out the game for 10 years so it's a bloody headache catching up on tech and what's changed!
