GPU dilemma for new build

Guys I have everything except for GPU and cooling for my new build.

I originally intended to go for the 780ti SC ACX or classified but now I'm not sure weather a cheap card to tie me over until Maxwell comes out is the better option? I'm just thinking I don't know exactly how long it will be until stock is available after all the pre-orders etc so dont want to wait forever to load up a game..and also if I'm spending over £650 on a card I want to make sure its the right decision!

G-Sync is also causing me headache as I don't know weather to hold off buying a monitor until we know what is coming and when. Ideally I want a Korean 1440p monitor but if there is a chance of a 1440p G-Sync in Q1 then I'll wait.

Don't you feel that a 780ti is a bit excessive for gaming?

Get a normal 780 for just under £400, or grab a second hand 780 for £300.

I'd say 290 but the recent price hike and the fact you want gsync sort if rule it out for me.

I wouldn't call a 780ti excessive.. especially for 1440p at decent settings!

I would at the prices they are currently sitting at.

I stick by what I said and feel a cheaper card would be a better option for now and then you can see what maxwell Is like, plus you won't lose as much money if you decide to go maxwell.

If your thinking of swapping in a short space of time I'd go second hand .
