GPU Driver is crashing in Windows

My GPU driver crashes sometimes in games, and all the time in Google Maps for some reason. I also get little artifacts (only a pixel or two big) on white parts of my desktop.

Any ideas what could be causing it? It is running cool. It is on a good quality 650watt power supply.

It is a 9600GT so not a big loss if is dead!
 
Have you tried turning off HW acceleration in Google? Sounds like it is goosed to be honest.
