Hi guys I'm hoping use can help and i hope this makes sense. I'm wanting the gpu to output to av receiver and tv with different cables. I've hooked up dvi to receiver and hdmi to tv and vice versa but it comes up on the tv saying high dpi device detected but wont let me click on anything. The reason I'm wanting this is because my amp doesn't support 3d. I've had it pass through the amp to tv with no problems.

might be a limit on how many devices you can connect to you card. just cus it has lots of ports doesn't mean all work at the same time.

Dvi doesnt carry sound so that to the receiver wont work anyway.

Does your amp have optical i used to have hdmi to tv optical to amp.

You should be able to put hdmi to av and dvi to tv and just set it to mirror displays then set it to send sound over hdmi.

You really need to connect the hdmi output from the graphics card to the av amp, and then a hdmi output from the amp to the the tv.

As passey says dvi doesn't carry audio through the cable and depending on your requirements for (channels and bit rate/or pcm multi channels) then if you were to output using optical you would be limited by bandwidth for dts hd audio master etc

Ok so I've got it working, I've got dvi to tv and hdmi to amp and amp to tv. When I unplug the amp from tv it goes back to as I said earlier. So yeah its all working but when I switch it all on the settings all get mixed up. So my next solution is I'm going to buy a new amp today, problem solved. Thanks for the help guys much appreciated.
