GPU failure? Or HDD?

Hey guys, new to the forum, hoping to get some help.

Basically a few months ago my PC started getting an issue probably once every 1-2 weeks where I'd be playing a game, usually counter strike source or DayZ and my screen would freeze and would repeat the sounds of the game forcing me to reboot the PC. Upon rebooting, my PC would POST but then as soon as it tries to go into Windows my monitor would turn off and say "no signal" but I could still hear it boot into Windows. I would then have to turn my PC off for 10 mins and then back on in order for it to start booting into Windows again. With this being said, I haven't had this issue for over a month now and happened probably 5 times in total. (not sure if this story above is related to my current issue)

Last night, I was playing a virtual world game, very low graphics and my PC began acting very slow almost as if the HDD was failing, it would sometimes completely lock up and I couldn't close down any programs or even a simple browser page so I had to reboot my PC with the reset button on the tower. Now today, my PC is still acting strange and much slower than it previously was, I am getting big frame drops in counter strike when usually I can run it constantly at 200 fps +
I tried to play global offensive and it can take up to 2 minutes just to join a server. To me, these problems look like my HDD is on its way out so I decided to run Seatools full test which passed with no issues, SMART is also fine. I've ran memtest and none of my memory modules get any errors. My PC has got 2 HDD's, one for my OS (1TB WD Black, aprox 3 years old) and a Seagate 1TB, used for writing fraps files as I am a youtuber, 2 years old) I've ran Crystaldisk on both of these drives, my OS drive gets sequential 80mb/s read/write and my fraps drive gets roughly 150 mb/s on both read and write however I did specifically buy a drive with a faster write speed for fraps.

The slowness seems random, sometimes I'll boot my PC up and it will take upto 10 minutes just for my startup programs to load and other times it will take 1 minute. One thing that confuses me is how I'm getting these frame drops/stutters because it isn't loading anything from the hard drive once it's in game. Another issue I'm getting since this problem started is that I can't even play youtube videos. In firefox the video just shows up black and will not even play and just freezes on the loading circle (I've tried updating java/shockwave). In chrome the videos actually play but they lag extremely and cannot keep up with the audio, I have to keep going back to the start of the video numerous amount of times until the video will play without any stuttering/lag. I've also tried updating my graphics card drivers. I'm probably going to ghost my OS to my fraps drive tomorrow to see if the HDD is the culprit.

I would appreciate other peoples opinions/advice

Oh, and I don't think malware has anything to do with this issue because I always make sure my PC is clean and when this issue started to occur I was just playing a game.

My temps are fine, CPU never goes above 60 in games however i have noticed my CPU load being too high when idle, typing this right now my CPU is ranging from 5% load to 30% constantly changing and I have nothing running apart from mouse/keyboard drivers, it just went up to 60% then for no reason. My GPU temps are like 38 idle and fine in games however sometimes my GPU fans will go to maximum speed for like 20 seconds for no reason just after launching an application, it is random. CPU load gone down to 0-5% now for some reason after not typing for a few minutes but getting random spikes to 15.

My specs are

GTX 580
I7 960
6GB RAM

CHKDSK didn't do anything lol, but after one of you mentioned my CPU temp I've been monitoring the CPU usage and it seems to be a little odd, it randomly goes to 60% just to load a program which I don't think is normal, but a failing CPU is usually very rare.

Found something very odd which is likely the issue, my CPU usage has gone down now randomly but look how much memory is being used by explorer.exe, 3.8GB

Update: Decided to run scans as it may be a virus causing such explorer usage, I had Malwarebytes/superantispyware/AVG running for about 10 minutes and the explorer usage was 3.8GB when it was scanning, but about 2 minutes ago the explorer usage dropped to 100k? And now it is rising back upto 3.8GB again slowly, (currently at 2.4GB)

Removed trojans with MWB and 200 tracking cookies, rebooted, I can now play videos and system doesn't seem slow, now to play games to fully test it.
