Hi Guys,
I am building a PC for a friend and have come across a problem I have not seen before. I hope someone here might have and can help:
When I shut the PC down the GPU fan goes to 100% permanently (until I turn the PC back on), yet all other fans power down. It appears like the GPU is the only thing left running.
Has anyone else seen this before? Any ideas for troubleshooting?
The PC specs are as follows:
Intel i5 2500k CPU
Asus P8P67-M PRO Mobo
8GB (2x4gb) Corsair Dominator RAM
AMD 6950 2GB GPU
Corsair 750w PSU
OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD
1TB WD Black HDD
I presume it is some kind of error with power states but cannot find a bios setting that appears wrong. I have tried holding the power button down for 10secs but that has no effect. In essence I cannot seem to actually turn the PC completely off unless I turn it off at the wall (or the switch on the PSU).
I hope someone can help, other than that the PC works perfectly and I am sure my friend will be incredibly happy!
