GPU fans running at full

I built a new system in August which included an EVGA 1070 FTW Gaming. The rest of the system is a Gigabyte Z170N-Gaming 5 motherboard with a i5-6600K CPU and 16GB RAM.

Just yesterday I installed Battlefield 1, the first game I've installed since putting the system together, and noticed that the GPU fans are ramping right up to 100% (I assume, it's very loud!) even on the menu once the game is started. The fans then stay at that speed until I shut the system down - restarting doesn't fix it. When doing everyday work / general desktop use, there is no issues with the fans (presumably because they are turned off with no load, hence I've not had this issue before!).

It's idling at around 28c and isn't passing 60c whilst under load. At idle and under load, the GPU fans say they are at 0 RPM and 0% PWM. I've tried installing EVGA Precision XOC to control the fan speed but it doesn't do anything.

Other than the fans, the card seems fine. Any ideas?

In case anyone ever experiences the same: managed to fix this (or so it seems so far!) by jiggling the card around a little in the PCI slot and making sure the power connector were properly connected. Fan RPM shows fine now (when the fans do kick in) and the fan curve I set up with Precision XOC also seems to work. :)

Card remains lovely and quiet under load!
