GPU Fight

the 480 edges it, comparison, but uses more power, produces more heat and noise in the process, so depends if you want raw performance or care about other things, theres a massive discussion on this (or a dozen, lol) in the gfx card forum right now

I don't care about power, so long as my PSU is powerful enough (520W Modular CoolerMaster)

If it gets too hot I'll just buy a bigger case (I want one anyway)

And I'm the only one sleeping in my room, but I think I'll turn my PC off instead of keeping uptime (21 days atm...)

What is the rest of your spec?

I would personally like to see bigger PSU with the 480 ie 620w +

I think I will buy the GTX 480 and a new PSU, at the end of the day I will need a new PSU eventually, and I'm saving a tad bit of money on a better graphics card, so it works out.

I'll just take a dremel to my Antec 300 just to make it fit I think :P

Honestly? I'd get the GTX480. Its only downside is it can be quite costly and they use a lot of power.

6950 surely? They can be flashed to 6970's, consume less power and radiate less heat and noise.

The 480 deal is good, but its cheap for a reason...

you will be spending circa 260-290 depending on the new psu you will buy as well for the 480, and tbh there's no other reason for you to upgrade from a 520W coolermaster.

edit: as mentioned above, the other alternative is a 560, but these have just been released and as such have a small premium. The best one is the 560 with 1000MHz on the core (gigabyte, strangely one of the chepaest too)

+1. Only advantage with the GTX480 would be PhysX and CUDA but to be honest they dont make that much of a difference. The 6950 would be a good choice :)
