GPU folding question

ok this may sound a bit odd, but anyone with a GPU folding rig wanna see if its any faster if you set your desktop res lower than it is currently at?

I'm basicaly wondering if having to produce the desktop at higher rest (1600x etc) will cause any slowdown of the client, or if its totaly idependant.

I wouldn't have thought so. I mean those cards are pretty top notch and desktop rendering shouldn't take a fraction of the cycles of a GPU.

Agreed, it's going to be more work to show the desktop with more pixels, but the difference is probably negligible.

Over the weekend I was doing allot of work on my main rig. It has a x1950xtx board in it. Had the GPU client working throughout. Was burning DVD's, watched a couple movies etc, yet still the GPU maintained a constent rate of 7.5 to 8.0 minutes per step. It seemed to have little to no effect on the perfomance of the GPU core completion rates.
