gpu for 1080p gaming

hi,thanks for your suggestions, looking at some of the other posts is vram a big problem in the next couple of years as I really don't want to upgrade again is anything else worth considering secondhand for £200 max

What about using DSR? once you enable that ( 4k>1080p ) the game looks SO much better! you don't need as much AA or PPE as it batters the gpu. So i would say still the 970 or 290 to give you some headroom to play around with. Yup would still go for this.

Don't worry bout 3.5 gb v-ram it won't kick in until ur already pushing card beyond what it can do and ur hitting sub 30fps. which in my experience is unplayable. That 970 won't hang around long and the next cheapest brand new is £269.99

dont hesitate get the 970... it's perfect at 1080p, the 3.5 RAM limit is miles away..... but i'd be careful of a 7970 in something like FC 4 because i dont think it's powerful enough any more, play it safe, get yourself a cheap 2nd hand large card..

hi all again due to unexpected car costs i am going to have to drop the max amount to spend to only £110 pound I can only afford secondhand really need you help guys any suggestions grateful i know i won't be able to play my latest games but if i can atleast play bf3 for now until my finances change that would be great
