So got my Money back on my 7990 after gigabyte sent another faulty card. :D

Using 570 2.5GB :(
Budget 750-800 pounds
Resolution 2560x1080 (for now might get 4K next year)

I'm thinking
2x 290X
2x 980 (Depending on reviews)
2x 780 6GB
2x 780TI

or
1x Titan Black now & 1 later?

Only thing leaning me towards nvidia is Witcher 3 support

however other than PhysX not sure what Nvidia Offers over AMD on witcher 3

for example
Hairworks - AMD support?
The other effects open for AMD to use or Tied down? or less optimized

Definitely not the Titan Black or 780TI. I would probably go for the 290xs or 2 980s, depending on how they're reviewed. They'll probably be expensive compared to 290s though.

Yeah you don't need two top end GPU's for that res.

My single 290 copes perfectly well with every game on max settings at that res.(except AA [not a fan of AA and not really needed for that res. @ 29"]) except for crysis 3.

So for now just get a single 290/290x or 780 6GB and when you move to 4k, add another GPU imo

i think whatever card i get ill get 2 just to get high frames all the time in case i jump to my 120hz monitor 1920x1080

ofc not for titan black

Indeed, was just checking as it was on OPs list :D

Could you not wait till this apparent nVidia next gen GPU release thing?

yeh i will be but wanted user feedback :)

6GB thought could be handy for heavy modded witcher 3 or skyrim like games

Smogsy, having watched the trailers and gameplay for The Witcher 3, I would certainly go for nVidia. It is going to be an epic game and one that nVidia have their proprietary tech in.

I would wait it out and see what the 980 is bringing and not long to wait either bud (Gibbo has a sample he has been testing) :)

I disagree with that. Depends what settings he likes to use / what games / mods, etc.

That's fair enough.

My experience has been amazing. With my 290, I can max out BF3, Batman and Borderlands 2 and keep a comfortable frame rate with no major performance hampering dips. A 6gb card isn't going to perform any better then a 4gb card with both obviously being the same brand. You've just got more ram.

My money is on a 295x2 (or 2xreference 290X's if you're deaf :p ), epic value atm

edit - Oooooooooooo, I see that the Gigabyte 295x2 has also been dropped to £730, extra years warranty and UK-based RMA centre! Sweet :)
