Gpu for £370

Hello people am really stuck here am building a new system end of January. Am stuck between GTX580 or HD6970 I will be playing @1080p and @60fps TV limit. I also want to play every game at high settings.

Please no fanboy comments just honest truth witch is better for my needs.

Total cost of rig £1.200

Well the GTX 580 is the faster card so there are no arguments there.

Nvidia generally have less driver issues so that's a bonus aswell, only thing for you to consider is, is the extra performance worth the extra cash, and only you can answer that.

Go read some reviews and see what you think.

The 7970 is coming out tomorrow though so you may want to wait a few weeks and see if the prices drop at all. Although they may rise if the release is a fail like BD was

Thanks for reply, I would love to jump at HD7970 but priced @ £400+ is a big no no This won't be getting ordered till last week this month.
Horrible times I pick for building a new pc.

Extra performance about 10-15fps this true? Because I can't go over 60fps anyway but would like a card that could and my just limit down.

I'd suggest going with the most powerful card you can afford at this moment, which is the GTX 580. That will keep you going steady for a good few years.

The 580 can play BF:3 at ultra settings smoothly.

My budget is £370 the new HD7970 will be £400+ and for my needs its way over.
Remember am only playing @1080p and @60FPS tv limit.
