GPU For £500 Assistance

Is the EVGA 780 TI SC worth getting over the R9 290x ?

What resolution will you be gaming (I presume you will be gaming) at? I picked up 2 x 290s for £560ish so that might give you something to think about. But if you want to go for a single car solution then the 780ti is your best option

Yea my PSU wont cope with crossfire at the moment. By the looks of it the TI would be better

Get a 780 (non-ti) or 290 (non-X) imo. They are nearly as fast as their bigger brothers, but considerably cheaper.

I got two second hand 290peasants for around £540. Pretty good setup for performance.

Saw this review as i was always interested why people asked me what res i will be playing at.
How much of a difference does it really make ? Buying a card like R9 290 and running it at 1080p ?

What benefits would i get using one specifically designed for 1080p ?

A R9 290 runs 1080P as good as or better than R9 270X for example and allows you not to worry about detail settings etc, just max everything out and forget about it.

personaly i would go for vaporx r9 290x, and use the rest of the money in a 1000watt psu, and then add crossfire later on when i need or have the money

eh? There's around 15-20% faster in the Ti over the 780.

I wouldn't say it's that much. Not enough to warrant the price difference, at least for me anyway. I'd rather have a 'plain' 780.
